Awards Ceremony
On Fridays parents and campers arrive back at camp
at 3:00 pm for camp cleanup and a catered lunch from Chipotle. Parents
are encouraged to check out the camp and see the week of fun their
children have enjoyed on our custom Camp Movie "DVD."
Work & Rewards Ticket Raffle Program
This is where we raffle off goodies to the campers
who have earned tickets. Monday morning, during orientation we talk
about our “Work & Rewards Ticket Raffle”. The motivation
for this program is to promote good behavior throughout the week.
The more tickets campers earn, the better their chances are to win.
In order to earn tickets, campers must help with the following:
- Picking up trash in the ocean, on the beach or campground
- Helping fellow campers in the water
- Doing dishes
- Taking out trash
- Helping set up/ break down day camp
- Helping out counselors
- Positive attitude / helping others
- Cleaning equipment
- Setting up for meals
- Work they instigate or create
- Clean up the chill zone
- Reward for beach activities
Weekly Work & Rewards Ticket Prizes:
A surfboard, two new
Billabong wetsuits and gear, A new longboard skateboard from our
sponsor 77-Skateboards, and more.
Camper Awards
Staff votes on and awards, “Camper of the
Week” and “Most Improved”.
Goodie-Bags
Every camper wins no matter what! Each camper will
be given a Summer Soul Surf Camp goodie-bag consisting of:
- A year’s subscription to Transworld Surf magazine
- Summer Soul Surf Camp tee shirt
- A Chipotle gift certificate
- An assortment of “Respect the Beach” and pollution
brochures from Surfrider
- A DVD and other goodies from Billabong
- Camp Photo
Guest Speaker
Campers will get the chance to meet a professional
surfer. He or she will discuss his or her worldly travels and the
joy of surfing, focusing on the importance of drug awareness, surfing
etiquette, and emphasizing an appreciation of state parks and beaches.
Photos and autographs will be available. |
